The Shape of Email

Current research on email archiving and storage generally focuses on the size of email and the impact that this can have on the productivity of a business. However, our research goes a step further by categorizing the contents of a typical inbox in terms of its value to the user, from spam to business-critical emails.

This research provides a perspective of what influences the value of an inbox, the impact of email behaviour on end-user productivity, and how new channels, such as social media, are impacting the way we use email.
