Over the past few years, technology has changed significantly. Anywhere, anytime access has become a requirement as users and partners have moved off premises, and customers demand access to the IT infrastructure. CIOs and IT staffers are increasingly tapping virtualization and the cloud as a way to keep up with current market and end-user demands. These changes have required IT to rethink its approach to computing, moving from a domain-centric environment to one that has its roots in the cloud. For some companies, the idea of the cloud a shared, multitenancy environment is too daunting, and the security, regulatory and governance issues are difficult to overcome.
